I've only been able to purchase a pre-check-in ticket, but I can't make it to pre-check-in, how do I go about it?

In this case, please don't buy a pre-check-in ticket, let it expire and we'll see you next time. We have to handle a lot of Nackerpatzis ourselves the evening and before and need your cooperation to do so. The slots & pre-check-in are binding.
